　　It is really a common scene in college classroom and lectures: students are engaged in whatever they can think of except listening carefully to their teachers and reflecting actively on what is taught. For example, they are busy with sleep, playing games with the phone, communication with friends through short messages. Some students even are absent from classes.

　　This phenomenon is worrying and attracting a lot of discussion among the people concerned. There is an opinion that class attendance should be optional. Firstly, the students have the freedom to choose their universities, their majors, and definitely are free to choose whether or not to go to classes. Secondly, the teaching quality has a great influence on the students choice. Thirdly, if the students are forced to the classroom, their careless attitude hurts both the teacher who may feel his effort is not worthy and other hard-working classmates who may be distracted.

　　As every coin has two sides, the Golden Week holidays have also brought about piles of problems. For one thing, due to the fact that people across the country are spending their vacations during the same period of time, it is terribly crowded almost everywhere: trains, buses, hotels, scenic spots, etc., which have ruined people’s mood for vacations. For another, some businessmen take advantage of the weeklong holidays and raise the priced of commodities and services.

　　Personally, I believe that it is necessary for people to have long vacations, but there is no need for them to have the vacations during the same period of time. Instead, they should be allowed the freedom to arrange their own vacations. Only in this way can they really relax and refresh themselves for a new round of work.

　　The Most Impressive Course in My College

　　When it comes to a course that leaves the deepest impression in university, different people stand on different grounds. As for me, the most impressive course in college is “Appreciation of English Movies”, which I like best. I prefer this curriculum to others owing to the following factors.

　　On one hand, the professor in charge of this course has impressed me most because she is not only knowledgeable but also patient. More importantly, it is this respectable teacher who spurs my interest to English harder and broadens my horizon as well. Until now, what she said in the class often occurs to my mind. On the other hand, there are many discussions in the classroom when we have lessons. We are allowed to talk freely about a movie, the topic ranging from the theme of a film to its casting. So, during the talk, we become increasingly open-minded. And undoubtedly a brain open to everything carries great importance to study, work and life.

　　Generally speaking, the course on appreciating English films has impressed me most for it is not only instructive but also entertaining. And therefore, I suggest that more similar courses should be offered in the university.

　　當談及到令人印象深刻的大學課程時，人們各持己見。我認為，大學里令人印象最深的課程是《英語電影欣賞》，這也是我最喜歡的課程。我喜歡這個課程勝于其他課程的原因如下：

　　一方面，負責教授本門課程的教授令我印象深刻，她不僅博學而且充滿耐心。更重要的是，正是這位受人尊敬的老師燃起了我努力學習英語的'興趣，而且拓寬了我的視野。直到現在，我還每每想起她的諄諄教導。另一方面，這門課程中有很多討論。我們或許可以暢所欲言，話題從電影主題到電影演員。因此，就這這種交流中，我們的思想越來越開放。而一個開放的大腦對于學習工作機生活無疑都是非常重要的。

　　總體而言，這門英語電影欣賞課程即有教育意義，又令人愉快，所以它是令我印象最深刻的一門大學課程。也因此，我建議大學應該提供更多類似的課程。
