Dream is a forever smile that make your soul pure. Dream will give us much more of confidence and courage whenever we are in the breaking point .Dream give us a direction ,dirtecting us to the road which is full of sunlight. Dreams are like a lamp, guiding you in darkness and helping you overcome obstacles(障礙 物)on your way. Otherwise, you will easily get lost or hesitate to go ahead. we need dreams to chart our course. We need dreams to support us. With a dream, we have a direction. With a direction, we will never be confused. With a dream, we have hope. With hope, we have the strength to fight. You got a dream, you gotta protect it. In the movie The Pursuit of Happiness, Chris Ghana(Will Smith) is a clever salesman, his hard work hard work, but overall no way to make a better life at home. born in a big city, i never ever have a chance to the wild animals. but with this amazing tv program, i can see the various living beings from different places. it’s not only broaden our horizon, but also give us a lot of useful knowledge about animals and plants.
as far as i concern, it is a funny as well as valuable tv program. the pictures are not only very beautiful in the show, but also very hard to see. this show open a brand-new door to the world that we do not know. i really enjoy watching it.

I received a devastating blow to my self-confidence in the first interview of my college years. I applied to be a host in our Student Acting Troupe and felt confident that I would be accepted. But one of the panel members told me: "You seem inadequate and you are a little vertically-challenged." My life has never been the same since. I used bigger heels to complement my height and psychological maneuvers and tricks to hide my lack of confidence. But no matter how hard I tried to look the part, there was still something missing.
As president of English Club, I organized the rehearsal of Snow White for an English party. Unfortunately, we could not find an actor to be the last dwarf. It had to be someone who was humorous by nature and fluent in English. Suddenly, all eyes turned to me, and I knew I would have to be the dwarf. To my great surprise and delight, once on stage, I was totally absorbed in the performance and my humorous nature was put to full use. As the dwarf, I was a big hit. Yes, each of us is only one among millions of others, but each of us is an individual and each of us is unique. Cultivating our individuality will transform our lives, making of them a kaleidoscope of new colors and textures.
A world deprived of diversity would be a bland and boring place. The real tragedy is not being short or shy or ugly, but having your identity lost in a world in which everyone is a clone of a model cool boy or a flawless charming girl.
Given a choice, I would rather be ugly than live in such a world. I'd rather be a genuine dwarf accompanying a Snow White than be a Snow White among nothing but Snow Whites. I would rather be myself. I would contribute my individual and unique colors to create a more diverse universe. Please, be yourself.

It has been nearly 10 years since Li Lingling, a Wuhan university student, became the first person to start a business independently by Chinese college students in 1999. More and more college students entrepreneurs appear around us. College students start their business. They are no longer a noun. The real characters and colorful experiences make us feel the vitality of College Students' independent entrepreneurship. Through these already entrepreneurial college students, we try to outline the group and current situation of the entrepreneurship of Qingdao university students, and explore the way of entrepreneurship for college students.
20xx, for the graduates of Qingdao, it can be regarded as the first year of entrepreneurship. It seems that in one night, entrepreneurs emerge around us, some of them from Qingdao universities, some are Qingdao local people. And the industries they involve are more diverse. From them, we see the rise of the group of College Students' entrepreneurship. These "post-80s" entrepreneurs are using their own actions to open up a field belonging to themselves.
Gaoyulong and Li Chao, founded Qingdao ten year Environmental Art Design Co., Ltd; Linxiaoping, founded u+ yoga hall; Tang chongyun and zhangyongtao founded Qingdao City online; Nie Mingyong, founded Qingdao New Field Information Service Co., Ltd; Xiaoyiyang and Yangguan founded Qingdao Kesheng Network Technology Co., Ltd.. All of them founded their own companies around 20xx, changing their identity from students to businessmen, representing the ideal of contemporary college students about entrepreneurship.
In July, 20xx, a survey by Beijing University students entrepreneurship guidance center showed that 72% of the respondents had entrepreneurial intention. A 20xx survey from Shanghai showed that the proportion of students with entrepreneurial dreams exceeded 70%. A survey from Qingdao University of technology also showed that 93.1% of students in school agreed that "entrepreneurship is a way of life and life experience".
Although the entrepreneurs of college students in Qingdao are not much, they have attracted people's attention from the beginning. 四、活動背景
在21世紀的今天，英語在國際交流中的.作用不言而喻，隨著我國科技的不斷發展，人才要求的日益提高，科技英語變得十分重要;學好科技英語，掌握流暢的口語是順應社會發展所必備的素質。因此，外國語學院團委準備在近期舉行一場培養科學精神，提高實踐創新能力為主題的科技演講比賽。
五、活動范圍及對象
活動對象是我校全體在校大學生，其中本學院大一大二每兩個班至少派出一位參賽選手，其他同學亦可以以個人名義報名參加。
六、比賽具體流程
〈一〉初賽
初賽以學院為單位進行，由各學院老師和同學選出至少一名選手參加外國語學院的復賽。
初賽在8日前結束。
二復賽
復賽以外國語學院為單位，評委由外院老師和學生會學習部成員共同組成。 經過初賽的選拔，我們會選出11名優秀選手參加全校決賽。
復賽時間暫定x月9號。
〈三〉決賽
復賽在5號樓53舉行，評委由外院老師及外教組成。
復賽日期暫定11月12號。
評分標準：
1、內容要求：主題鮮明，內容清楚、結構清晰、中心突出，合理展開、闡釋充分、證據相關、邏輯性強，內容生動、不枯燥，能吸引聽眾注意力。 (3分)
2、語言要求：使用標準英國英語或美國英語。語言準確(發音清晰，音調、音高合適，用詞準確、相關)，語言流利(注意連讀、詞重音、句重音、語調和節奏等)。 (3分)
3、技巧要求：自信，有感情與氣勢;注意手勢、眼神與身體語言;幽默感(不能是啞劇式的幽默或調侃);適當使用修辭手段(比喻、類比等)。 (3分)
4、時間控制：定題演講在2 分3秒時有工作人員提示，超過3 分15秒，或不足2 分45秒，扣1-5 分。 (1分)
5、道具使用：定題演講中允許使用實物、圖片等輔助道具，但僅限使用一次道具，使用道具過多將被酌情扣分。
評獎與獎勵：
決賽產生一等獎1名，二等獎2名，三等獎3名，優秀獎5名
八、活動前期準備：
1、1月28號通知各學院，請他們于11月8月號前選出至少一名參加復賽的同學。
2、提前申請好活動場地，申請展板攤位。
3、制作宣傳海報兩份，設計宣傳單并復印若干份，提前宣傳整個活動
4、做好活動所需材料的準備：把干事分為兩組，宣傳小組和設計小組，設計小組主要負責海報、傳單、邀請函、獎狀的設計和決賽當天現場布置方案、物資準備，而宣傳小組主要負責初賽到決賽的宣傳，并且負責邀請評委嘉賓。
5、聯系好各部門的同學過來協助、幫忙
6、在新聞部調用同學準備負責拍攝，制作現場ppt等技術工作

We often hear people say，“Never give up.” This can be encouraging words and words of determination. A person who believes in them will keep trying to reach his goal no matter how many times he fails. In my opinion，the quality of determination to succeed is an important one to have. Therefore，I believe that we should never give up.
One reason is that if we give up too easily，we will rarely achieve anything. It is not unusual for us to fail in our first attempt at something new，so we should not feel discouraged and should try again. Besides，if we always give up when we fail，we will not be able to develop new skills and grow as people. Another reason we should never give up is that we can learn from our mistakes only if we make a new effort.
If we do not try again，the lesson we have learned is wasted. Finally，we should never give up because as we work to reach our goals，we develop confidence，and this confidence can help us succeed in other areas of our lives.
Probably the greatest example of persistence is Abraham Lincoln. Born into poverty，Lincoln was faced with defeat throughout his life. He lost eight elections，twice failed in business and suffered a nervous breakdown.
He could have quit many times - but he didn't and because he didn't quit，he became one of the greatest presidents in the history of our country.
Lincoln was a champion and he never gave up.
In short，it is important that we don’t give up when working for our goals. Whether we succeed in the end or not，we will learn something，and what we learn will help us to bee better，more confident people. Furthermore，if we give up，we have no chance of attaining our goals，but if we keep trying，there is always a chance that we will succeed one day.Thank you very much!

Once upon a time there was a hare who, boasting how he could run faster than anyone else, was forever teasing tortoise for its slowness. Then one day, the irate tortoise answered back: "Who do you think you are? There's no denying you're swift, but even you can be beaten!" The hare squealed with laughter.
"Beaten in a race? By whom? Not you, surely! I bet there's nobody in the world that can win against me, I'm so speedy. Now, why don't you try?"
Annoyed by such bragging, the tortoise accepted the challenge. A course was planned, and the next day at dawn they stood at the starting line. The hare yawned sleepily as the meek tortoise trudged slowly off. When the hare saw how painfully slow his rival was, he decided, half asleep on his feet, to have a quick nap. "Take your time!" he said. "I'll have forty winks and catch up with you in a minute."
The hare woke with a start from a fitful sleep and gazed round, looking for the tortoise. But the creature was only a short distance away, having barely covered a third of the course. Breathing a sigh of relief, the hare decided he might as well have breakfast too, and off he went to munch some cabbages he had noticed in a nearby field. But the heavy meal and the hot sun made his eyelids droop. With a careless glance at the tortoise, now halfway along the course, he decided to have another snooze before flashing past the winning post. And smiling at the thought of the look on the tortoise's face when it saw the hare speed by, he fell fast asleep and was soon snoring happily. The sun started to sink, below the horizon, and the tortoise, who had been plodding towards the winning post since morning, was scarcely a yard from the finish. At that very point, the hare woke with a jolt. He could see the tortoise a speck in the distance and away he dashed. He leapt and bounded at a great rate, his tongue lolling, and gasping for breath. Just a little more and he'd be first at the finish. But the hare's last leap was just too late, for the tortoise had beaten him to the winning post. Poor hare! Tired and in disgrace, he slumped down beside the tortoise who was silently smiling at him.
"Slowly does it every time!" he said.

Unity and Diversity -- Common Progress in Different Regions
In recent years, the development of the Chinese economy has been incredibly fast, some might even call it miraculous. But behind the miracles lies a problem: the development is unbalanced in different regions.
Under the strategy of the Chinese government, China has three major economic regions: the east, the middle and the west. With its advantageous position, the east is the fastest developing area, leaving the west far behind, and the middle somewhere in between. For instance, the GDP per capita in the east amounts to US$20xx, while that of the west is only 40% of the east.
Furthermore, the gap between the urban and the rural, according to the State Statistical Bureau, has widened to more than 10 years. There are people in the big cities with large houses, expensive cars, other luxuries and better opportunities. However, there are people in the countryside, living on meager food, without the security of health, education, and so on.
This is the diversity of the Chinese economy. For the unity of the full national economic development, governments of all levels have decided on corresponding strategies, for example, the greater development of the western region, the continuing rise of the central China, and the faster development of the east. Specifically, within the west, provinces alike have established programs of development, with financial and technological aid of the central government, making full use of the western natural resources. Such strategies have turned out to be remarkably successful.
It reminds me of the world. There are wealthy countries in North America and Europe; there are poor ones in Asia and Africa. The aid from the rich world is far from enough to remove poverty in the developing countries. Therefore, with the help of funds, technology, and management from wealthy countries, these developing countries now have the opportunity to establish their own right strategies of development, taking full advantage of their natural and human resources.
If their strategies succeed, in the years to come, I hope to see such a world: everyone, white or black, brown or yellow, can stand side by side, equal, happy, and harmonious. There is diversity; there is unity.

A couple of days ago, I saw the newly enrolled freshmen in the military training under the glowing sun. They wear the same, move the same, eat the same, and sing together, they do everything under one same command without an exception. I could see sweet smiles on their faces though the heat of summer was melting them. Why? Because this is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for
them to feel no different from others. No matter where you are from, rich or poor, boy or girl, you are part of this battalion; you are comparatively insignificant but absolutely irreplaceable.
This is a force. It’s unity.
We are the world because of unity. It enables the international co-operational manufacture by setting up unified standards for everything. A nail produced in China can be perfectly used in any corner of the world.
Therefore, it is unity that leads world into a perfect harmony!
However, don’t you think it’s a little bit boring with unity ruling the world only? What would you do if someone orders you to do whatever he does without allowing you to do what you really want? Apparently, you’ll be going nuts, because you are not leading a life of your own. So, to us, diversity talks!
Before I went to college, my dad asked me: son, did you think of being outstanding? If you want to be outstanding, you have to stand out, stand out of normal routine which other people consider the only way to success.
But dad’s words went in one ear and out the other! I had no idea whether dad was right or wrong until the day I found I was no longer myself. I put myself in a jar full of people. I work when they work, I panic when they panic, and I waste time when they waste time. This is no laughing matter but a horrible disaster. Not exactly! Unity stops us getting into chaos while diversity makes life colorful.
From then on, my long-covered specialty was evoked and set me on a special track to my dreams.
I got back what I had lost. It’s a great feeling that you realize you still have the ability to surprise yourself: I found a part-time job as an oral-English teacher in a private school. I love English and work joyfully though my major has nothing to do with English at all. I stood out and made a difference. I found “I am what I am, and I am happy to be me.”

I’m very glad for being here on this beautiful Friday evening to share my thoughts with all of you on the topic of“make a change”. First of all,I really want to ask two questions: What is change,how to make a change.
Change is what keeps us fresh,change is what keeps us young,change is what keeps us from getting stale and stuck in a rut. I’d like to share a famous saying of Gandhi with all of you,what is, if you want to change the world, then you must change yourself first. Actually, we cannot change the past, but we can change the present, we cannot change the fact, but we can change our manner, we cannot change the weather, but we can change our mood, we cannot change life’s length, but we can change life’s width. Never complain that life is boring and the world is disappointing. If you don’t like the taste of your life, just change the ingredients.
Time files! Only once can we live. If you don’t want to leave any regret. Let’s start right now to make a change. We must realize that it is never too late to begin making changes that can change our life. The moral to it is to change what you see and don’t like. Don’t just sit there and think of how sad the place is. Make a change for the better. Don’t wait for the right time. There isn’t e is never a perfect time. Today always beats tomorrow. Today is the only daywe have. Tomorrow is only a promise and may never come. Dream for tomorrow but live for today. Make your changes and do it now. Life makes no guarantees as to what you’ll have. It just give you time to make changes, and to take chances, and to discover what secrets might come your way. It is an honor to stand here and have this chance to say that we are the ones who can make a change and let a brighter day come.

yes, that's a memorable scene in one of my favorite movies, called gorillas in the mist, based on a true story of mrs. dian fossey, who spent most of bet lifetime in rwanda to protect the ecoenvironment there until the very end of her life.
to me, the movie not only presents an unforgettable scene but also acts as a 6) timeless reminder that we should not develop the tourist industry at the cost of our ecoenvironment.
