英語書信格式

　　英文書信一般可由信頭、信內地址、稱呼、信的正文、結束語、簽名、信封幾個基本要素組成。根據實際需要，還可以加上附件等要素。

　　① 信頭 ( Heading )

　　信頭又稱信端，一般寫在信紙的右上角，包括寄信人通信地址和寫信日期。第一行先寫寄信人的門牌號碼，再寫街道名稱；第二行先寫縣市名稱，再寫省份名稱，往右空兩個字母寬的位置，再寫上郵政編碼。如果信是寄給國外的，寄信人還應該寫第三行，這行寫自己國家的名稱，最后一行寫寫信的日期。每行的后面可用標點符號，也可以不用。如用，前面幾行的末尾都用逗號，寫信日期的后面則用句號，如：

　　Shangai No. 1 Middle School

　　Shanghai 200062,

　　P.R.China,

　　Nov.8, 2005.

　　② 信內地址 ( Inside Address )

　　信內地址位于左上角。在信頭之后，下空兩三行，從左邊頂格處寫起。第一行寫稱呼和姓名，第二行寫收信人的單位名稱，第三行寫地址，地址中每個詞的首字母要大寫，如：

　　Dr. David Fuller

　　Graduate Studies

　　Northern State University

　　1200 South Jay Street

　　Aberdeen, SD57401-7198

　　U.S.A.

　　③ 稱呼 ( Salutation )

　　在正式公文中，一般用Formal (正式)的稱呼；在半公半私的信件中，可用Less formal（次正式）的稱呼；在社交信件中，尤其是親屬與好友之間的通信，可用Informal（非正式）的稱呼。

　　④ 信的正文 ( The Body of the Letter )

　　一般來說，一封好的英文書信應符合正確、簡潔、明了、禮貌這幾個基本要求。

　　書信的格式也有平頭和縮頭之分，在平頭里，每段每行的首字母與稱呼及信內地址的首字母垂直排齊，每段之間的段距比行距要大一些，一般為兩行；在縮行式里，每段第一行首字母應往右縮進兩三個字母，每段之間的段距與行距相等。不論是平頭式還是縮行式，書信正文應從稱呼之下兩三行處開始。

　　⑤ 結束語 ( Complimentary Close )

　　事務信件中常用的結束語有：

　　Truly yours,

　　Yours truly,

　　Respectfully yours,

　　Yours respectfully,

　　社交信件中常用的結束語有：

　　Sincerely yours,

　　Yours sincerely,

　　Affectionately yours,

　　Yours affectionately,

　　Obediently yours,

　　Yours obediently,

　　⑥ 簽名 ( Signature )

　　寫信人要在結束語下面簽名，以表示對信件中的全部內容負責。簽名和結束語應寫在正文之下兩三行中間偏右位置，但現在為了打字方便，很多人將這兩個部分分別打和簽在信紙左端、正文之下兩三行處，與信內地址、稱呼以及正文各段的左端垂直排齊，如：

　　Sincerely

　　_______Signature (簽名)

　　David Raymond

　　Chairman

　　Organising Committee of the Conference

　　⑦ 附言（Postscript）

　　可以用P.S. 補上遺漏的話。通常在信末簽名下面幾行的左方，應與正文齊頭。在正式的信函中，應避免使用附言。

　　⑧ 附件（Enclosure）

　　信件如果有附件，可在信紙的左下角，注上Encl: 或Enc:。如果附件不止一項，應寫成Encls: 或Encs:

　　Dear Snoopy,

　　I am greatly honored to formally invite you to participate in Mr. Guo Jing's wedding ceremony with Ms. Huang Rong to be held at Beijing Grand Hotel from 8 to 10 p.m. on April 1, 2007.

　　As you are a close friend of us, we would very much like you to attend the celebration and share our joy. The occasion will start at seven o'clock in the evening, (www.baimashangsha.com)with the showing of their wedding ceremony. This will be followed by a dinner party. At around ten, we will hold a small musical soiree, at which a band will perform some works by Bach and Strauss.

　　英語書信（二）

　　Dear sir/madam:

　　[organization] would very much like to have someone from your company speak at our conference on [topic].

　　As you may be aware, the mission of our association is to promote . Many of our members are interested in the achievements your company has made in.

　　Enclosed is our preliminary schedule for the conference which will be reviewed in weeks. I'll call you [date] to see who from your company would be willing to speak to us. I can assure you that we'll make everything convenient to the speaker.
